Success and Happiness

Success and Happiness

Success.
Every one wants it. Yet most people don’t know what it is.
Were
Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Hitler, Rajiv Gandhi successful. By many known
measures they undoubtedly were! But one common factor that stands out as an
effect that marred the success is that they were either killed or committed
suicide. Is this success?
We
are talking of Success with happiness.
When
I joined Class VI in Sainik School Kapurthala in 1962, every class room had a
quotation- “Success always comes to those who dare and act. It seldom goes to
the timid” – JL Nehru.  At that time it
did not make much sense to me but as years went buy I started realizing what it
meant.  I saw it happen! I saw people who
went into too deep into analysis with little emphasis on “result orientation”.
And then I knew what “too much analysis leads to paralysis” meant.
Success
never happens by accident. One has to work towards it. One needs to have
clarity on what one “wants”  in life,
know one’s capability, set a goal and be determined to reach there.

I
am writing some stories from my life on “Success.” Will you please join me in
sharing your success stories? – something you experienced or something you saw happen that inspired you or impacted you.
