Ever heard of ‘Public listening’ ?

Ever heard of ‘Public listening’ ?

We all think Effective communications means talking, oration, speech.
A very important part of communications is ‘Effective Listening’
We miss out on that, forgetting why GOD gave us one mouth and two ears.
We are conditioned that way.
From our early childhood we were told to speak and write well. No one
ever told us to listen well. It was not a part of our teaching and growing
up. It was a default function of the sub conscience.
There was emphasis on ‘Public speaking.’ Anyone heard of ‘Public
listening’ ??  Did we have inter school
Public Listening contests, but we had Public Speaking  contests?
What I speak is ‘my’ asset. I know what I speak. When I listen, I gain
from others. In this materialistic world which revolves around ‘profit’ and ‘gains’
why are we missing out on this ??
